Well, what else could it be?

While Phase 1 was all about setting up the Avengers, ever since then it's all been headed towards Thanos. Even ignoring any little clues and teasers that were in the pre-Avengers movies, you're talking about six years of build-up from that post-credits scene to the release of Infinity War, and 13 different films.

Infinity War is going to be the Marvel Cinematic Universe event, the culmination of various character arcs, and finally unleashing the Big Bad who was been lurking in the background for years. With the Infinity Gauntlet set to be completed, it's going to be the biggest test the heroes have faced, bringing in Avengers old and new and probably anyone else they can get their hands on as well, and irrevocably shake-up the MCU.

The Russo bros. are directing, with Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely writing (a director/writer team that's knocked it out of the park twice now), and with pretty much everyone expected to be in the cast, this is likely to be the biggest superhero movie we've ever seen.

Release Date: May 4, 2018.
