Although it was the first MCU TV show, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has never really taken off or caught the imagination in the way the shows that followed it have done.

A big reason for that is the slow, muddled first half of Season 1, but things did start to pick up once it tied into Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and the show has been pretty solid since, as well as widening the MCU with the introduction of Inhumans - something they can hopefully expand upon now, and bring in some more recognisable names, since Inhumans is currently off the movie schedule.

It's still not essential viewing, but maybe that can change in Season 4, which has a couple of big things going for it: 1) the introduction of Ghost Rider - the Robbie Reyes version - which can hopefully do justice to the character and provide excitement, and 2) it's moving to a later timeslot, meaning it should be able to be a littler darker and adult.
