The Prediction

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 spoilers incoming - skip if you haven't seen it yet!

Now that she's not a Guardian Of The Galaxy and has pledged to kill Thanos on her own, Nebula is one of the biggest wildcards in the MCU heading into Infinity War. If the film is to follow the events of the Infinity Saga comics, then the suggestion would be that she will be very important to Thanos' defeat too.

It would be great to see Nebula take on her father and defeat him (while he's unhinged by a thirst for even more power), and to see her take over the Infinity Gauntlet herself, as she does in the comics, and lose her mind to evil too.

The Implications

That would not only give her a poetic end to her arc with her father, it would also provide a means to defeat Thanos that doesn't undermine the mythology of the Infinity Gauntlet and introduce a ready-made villain for Avengers 4 all at once.
