8. Cap Recruits Spider-Man - Spider-Man: Homecoming

The Prediction

After Tony Stark abandons him as his mentor in Homecoming, Spider-Man realises that his new tech-augmented Spider-suit was fitted with a tracking device designed to evaluate his powers in order to work out a strategy for taking him down, should the need arise.

With Infinity War coming and Captain America in need of recruits to fight Thanos, he turns to Spidey knowing he's a power player and knowing he's no longer really allied to pro-registration forces.

The Implications

That would follow the way their relationship deteriorates in the Civil War comic, and it would allow Jon Watts and the Russos to set up a team-up between Spidey and Cap's underground Avengers heading towards the start of Infinity War (and skipping the need to do another recruitment sub-plot in that film too).

It would also provide Watts with the kind of hype-building post-credits scene everyone will be looking for on the end of Homecoming.
