Marvel Phase 4: 10 Mistakes Marvel Studios Has Already Made

7. Loki's Resurrection

The writers of Avengers: Endgame recently revealed that when Loki escaped in that alternate version of 2012, the plan then wasn't for Loki to return in his own TV series. Marvel Studios is using that as a launching platform, though, for a show which will follow this version of the God of Mischief as he travels through time and ends up on the wrong side of the TVA (Time Variance Authority).

We can't deny that Loki will be a must-watch, and getting to see Tom Hiddleston take centre stage as this character is an awesome prospect. However, the character's return also lessens the impact of death in this shared world, as his demise in Avengers: Infinity War didn't even last two years!

Marvel Comics is frequently criticised for an endless cycle of deaths and resurrections, and when a hero or villain is killed now, no one ever believes it. It would be a shame for the same thing to happen in the MCU, and while it's fair to say that an inventive way has been found to "resurrect" Loki, it still feels like the concept of anyone being killed is now cheapened somewhat.

With that in mind, resisting the temptation of making a Loki TV series may have been for the best.
