Marvel Phase 4: 10 Mistakes Marvel Studios Has Already Made
2. Announcing Blade...And Then Not Including Him
Marvel Studios made a lot of blockbuster announcements during last year's Comic-Con, but one of the biggest came right at the very end of their Hall H presentation when Mahershala Ali hit the stage and was revealed as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Blade.
It was an amazing, unexpected moment, and one which got fans seriously excited. The Oscar-winning actor is known for being incredible at what he does, and has delivered stellar performances in TV shows like True Detective and Luke Cage. However, despite being revealed as the new Blade, it was later confirmed that Ali won't be playing the character during Phase 4.
Seriously.
It's hard to understand why Marvel would tease fans with his introduction, only to snatch it away and make it clear we'll be waiting a good four or five years until get gets his own movie or TV series. The announcement was a memorable one, but also somewhat pointless, and it's hard to get as excited as we probably should about other upcoming Phase 4 projects when Blade remains out of our reach.
