6. Nova Is In Development

For years now Nova has been suggested as a possibility for the MCU and it was widely expected that he'd either join up with the Guardians Of The Galaxy or spin-off out of Avengers: Infinity War after the decimation of Xandar. So far, so quiet on both of those fronts, but Jeremy Conrad on Twitter now says that a solo Nova project IS in development.

According to his source who he claims has always been 100% in the past, that film is underway, which corroborates what Kevin Feige said previously on the Infinity War press circuit:

“Nova is… if we have a big board with a bunch of characters that have more immediate potential, Nova is on that board. Because of the connection to the Guardians universe, because there are more than one examples to pull from in the comics that are interesting. And you’re absolutely right, he was in the earliest drafts of the [Guardians of the Galaxy].”

It also fits with what the Russos have just said about the character in the wake of Endgame:

“We never considered introducing him. I think that exists more in the Guardians universe. That would have to be a James Gunn thing… You can’t introduce somebody who doesn’t have their own movie like [Captain] Marvel. You can’t just throw them into the final chapter of a book.”

Whether it will be a cinematic feature or will be tied to Disney+ remains to be seen at this stage.
