Marvel Post-Credit Scenes - Ranked From Worst To Best

10. Iron Man 2

Marvel

Iron Man 2 almost ended the MCU before it even really got going. The first film to tackle building up The Avengers head on, the thrill of having more time with Nick Fury was lessened due to a bloated plot and reluctance to focus on the actual story at hand. Thankfully, all that bird-bothering was (partially) made up for by a sting that, while incredibly simple, began moving the series towards the exciting unknown.

After Agent Coulson disappears partway through the film to investigate a disturbance in New Mexico, the scene explains that it wasn't just Clark Gregg wanting some time off; S.H.I.E.L.D. has found Mjolnir, the hammer of Thor. The scene itself is deviously simple - Coulson drives through the desert, surveys the commotion and gives Fury a call - but it does its job perfectly. Not just reminding you that Thor is on the way, it confirmed everyone'€™s favourite agent will appear in the 2011 film.

Looking back at these earlier scenes they're clearly much simpler than what fans have grown accustomed to, but at the time these small details were key in building anticipation for the next summer's release (remember when these movies came around only once a year?).
