Marvel’s Spider-Man: 8 Characters The New Movies Need To Introduce
6. The Kangaroo
Okay so theres not much to say about The Kangaroo, hes just a terrible villain conceived as an easy target for our hero to both rip the piss and beat the shit out of. Hes probably also a not-so-subtle attack on the names and powers given to supervillains back in the day, all of which makes him perfect for an early face off with the young Spidey. He could even be a running (hopping) joke, appearing throughout the film for an exasperated webslinger to deal with and hone his skills for use against the real threats. Youd never get an actor of the calibre of Heath Ledger or Tom Hiddleston for the role, and he should really only have about 15 minutes of screen time overall, but The Kangaroo could provide some great light relief and a gentle learning curve for a young character thrust into a world of escalating threats to civilisation. Aside from the big threats weve only seen our Spider-Men tackling muggers, petty thieves and would-be sexual predators so to have him fight the type of c-list villain that the MCU must surely be crawling with by now would be a nice new angle.
