Marvel’s Spider-Man: 8 Characters The New Movies Need To Introduce
2. Morbius The Living Vampire
Marvel has made no secret of the fact that its using its properties to explore various genres. Winter Soldier was billed as a spy thriller, Age of Ultron a war movie and the first Spider-Man film is set to be a high-school coming of age film in the John Hughes mould. Why not then make a future Spider-Men instalment into a Vampire film? Michael Morbius, as the title suggests, is a living vampire. The result of an ill-fated attempt to cure himself of a rare blood condition with vampire bats and radiation (which is just asking for trouble really), Morbius is a tragic figure who stalks the night of Spideys darker adventures. A Spider-Man film featuring vampires wouldnt even have to be a full-blown horror, it could just as easily use the school setting to create something closer to a YA story, giving the writers ample opportunity to riff off twilight, whilst the circumstances behind Morbius powers are close enough to Peters to generate some real empathy. It could also be a plausible way to bring Blade back into the fold.
