Matthew McConaughey: 5 Awesome Performances and 5 That Sucked

5 Performances That Sucked

5. Connor Mead - Ghosts of Girlfriends Past

mm10 I€™ve always liked Jennifer Garner and Michael Douglas, and I€™ve really grown to like McConaughey a lot. But I hate this. This is the laziest, stupidest alternative adaptation of Charles Dickens€™ A Christmas Carol that I€™ve ever seen. And McConaughey, playing photographer Connor Mead who, you guessed it, has a knack with the ladies, brings nothing special to this steaming pile of predictable clichés and forced humour: the very definition of "phoning it in". I hope that this is the last rom-com McConaughey will appear in, I really do. There is no distinct chemistry between McConaughey and Garner, although they€™re Taylor & Burton in comparison to some of Matt€™s pairings you€™ll meet later, and you€™re not sure whose fault it is. And there€™s no spark between Matt and Michael Douglas either. If nobody can muster up something interesting, than what the hell was the point? God knows how this grossed over $100 million at the box office. You don€™t care about what he is going through, or the inevitable lessons he learns by the end of it all. Rather, you€™re glad he€™s changed his ways because the credits will roll and you can stop watching. There simply ain€™t nothing to recommend here.
