Matthew McConaughey: 5 Awesome Performances and 5 That Sucked

2. Steve Edison - The Wedding Planner

mm9 If a film has Jennifer Lopez in it - even the hilarious Anaconda and the rather overrated Out of Sight - run for the hills! This foul rom-com has McConaughey wearing glasses and sporting blonde hair. And oh, isn€™t it full of twists and turns? And oh, doesn€™t it make you feel warm inside? And who doesn't love Jennifer Lopez?! Deciding to really push himself in the varying role department, McConaughey is Steve Edison, a pediatrician who starts off on a bad note by saving the life of Lopez€™s Mary, a wedding planner who (surprise!), has no time for love because she wants to advance her career. She starts to fall for Steve, but the woman who she is planning a wedding for, a move that will give her a huge boost is - plot twist! - marrying Steve. Dilemma alert. Another crappy rom-com, another one-dimensional performance from Matthew. At least he€™s kind of douchey in the other sucky performances listed. Here he€™s just€ well, he just exists in the frame. If you€™re a McConaughey completist, no one will blame you for giving this one a miss. Or The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 4, for that matter. In fact, no, watch The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 4, then try to imagine a crossover where Leatherface mutilates Steve€™s stupid face. How€™s that for a film?
