MCU: 10 British Villains In Marvel's Cinematic Universe - Ranked Worst To Best
4. Karen Gillan - Nebula
While her motives may be the oldest in the book - revenge upon her adopted family who made her upbringing nothing short of abusive - Nebula is far from one dimensional. Always willing to work alongside anyone as long as their goals align with hers, she fights with characters as disparate as fanatic Ronan the Accuser, and the metaphorically named Taserface.
Eventually this also includes the sister who constantly defeated her when growing up together, although it is only through the interactions with Gamora which occur away from Thanos' ever watchful eye (and which does admittedly include leaving her for dead at one point) that the two are finally able to connect as siblings rather than rivals.
Despite often finding herself in tricky situations she also has the resourcefulness to work her way out of them, and it is this adaptability which sees her exhibit that one facet lacking in so many other villains: compassion.
Even underneath all of Nebula's make-up and augmentation prosthetics, it is Karen Gillan's ability to express the whole range of what Nebula has gone through, from anger, pain, and fear, to regret and forgiveness, that prompts the sisters' reunion on Ego's planet to be one of the MCU's most genuine heartfelt moments.
