MCU: 10 Characters Destined To Leave The Franchise In Phase 5

James Gunn's temporary firing from Marvel Studios was an ugly affair that showcased some disdain actors might have for the corporate side of making a Marvel movie. The most vocal of these was Dave Bautista, who vehemently stood by James and bluntly stated that he would only play Drax again because he was contractually obligated to.

With James Gunn rehired and leading the cast for a third Guardians of the Galaxy film, Dave was back on board too, but it would seem the whole affair has left some wounds that might never heal.

Unless James announces his more work in the MCU after Guardians 3, we should expect Dave Bautista (and Drax) to exit the franchise too. Any future collaborations the Guardians might have with crossovers and team-ups are sure to be excluding Drax.

If there is no animosity between Dave Bautista and Disney, then logically Drax should still depart from the franchise.

His entire story focused on avenging his family at the hands of Thanos; and with the Mad Titan now wiped from existence, Drax' narrative in the Infinity Saga is over, and seeing him settle down somewhere might be a fitting conclusion at the end of Guardians 3.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
