MCU: 10 Characters Destined To Leave The Franchise In Phase 5
3. Thor
With two of the "Big Three" Avengers bowing out last year with Endgame, the future of Chris Hemsworth as Thor looked a bit unclear until it was revealed Taika Waititi would be returning the franchise for Thor: Love & Thunder.
Given how Endgame left our Norse God, we're obviously expecting him to make something of an appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 too, but whether it will be a cameo or a straight addition to the team is to be revealed.
The thing is, Chris completed his contracts with Marvel and renewed them enough to take him through to the two films stated above. With Love & Thunder bringing Jane (Natalie Portman) back into the franchise as a female version of Thor, and Valkyrie is leading the Adgardians on Earth, maybe we'll start to see a fond farewell for the God of Thunder?
The future of Thor the character is probably the wildest guess for any MCU fan. At one point it looked like Thor might be the weakest (narrative) character and even Chris Hemsworth himself admitted that before Taika Waititi came along he was bored with the character.
Maybe Chris is looking for the ideal moment to give Thor a proper send-off?
