MCU: 10 Characters Most Likely To Die (And The Movies They'll Die In)
9. Jude Law's Character (Captain Marvel)
Why He's Likely To Die: We're only a few months out from Captain Marvel and we still don't know who Jude Law is playing, despite persistent rumours labelling him as Mar-Vell, or Yon-Rogg. With no official confirmation yet, we can't know for sure.
From what we know of the story though, it seems like his character will be on Captain Marvel's side at the start, but will slowly become more villainous as the movie progresses. This is reinforced by the first trailer: he looks quite sinister with his glowing orange eyes, and there's even a brief shot of the titular hero facing off against a figure who looks suspiciously like Law in costume...
It's not a lot to go on, but if Law's character is indeed the villain of the piece, then it's hard to see him making it out of the movie alive.
If you look at solo character debuts in the MCU, the villains don't fare so well - Obadiah Stane, Killmonger, Yellowjacket and Ronan The Accuser all died - and Marvel isn't afraid to kill off big-name talent after just a single movie, either (Robert Redford, Mickey Rourke, Kurt Russell).
Plus, with Captain Marvel being the most powerful character to grace the MCU, her destructive capabilities don't exactly give her foes good odds of surviving.
