MCU: 10 Characters Most Likely To Die (And The Movies They'll Die In)

7. Nick Fury (Avengers 4)

Why He's Likely To Die: Though Robert Downey Jr is often credited with "starting" the MCU, it's important to remember that Samuel L. Jackson has been around since the beginning too. Hell, Nick Fury is the one who brought the Avengers together, and he's had as pivotal a role in this universe as just about anyone.

And with most fans expecting all the original characters to be slowly phased out as the MCU enters its second decade (after all, they can't be around forever), Nick Fury is well within that group of long-serving characters who, if they were to bow out now, would be doing so having more than earned their stripes.

Plus, absolutely nobody is talking about Fury dying in Avengers 4 (most of the exit chatter pertains to Steve and Tony), and that's precisely why he might.

Infinity War proved that we should expect the unexpected: nobody predicted that Gamora would be the one to die, and yet, her death was one of the movie's biggest emotional centerpieces. Writers Markus & McFeely - and the Russo Brothers - are smart, and in a general sense, they know what fans are expecting. With that in mind, there would at least be an element of surprise if Fury were to bite it.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
