MCU: 10 Characters Most Likely To Die (And The Movies They'll Die In)

6. W'Kabi (Black Panther 2)

Why He's Likely To Die: Black Panther 2 is definitely coming, but with the script not even being complete yet, we have no idea what it might entail. However, the way the first film played out may offer up some clues as to what we can expect from the sequel's story and characters.

In Black Panther, W'Kabi started out as T'Challa's loyal friend and leader of the Border Tribe, Wakanda's primary line of defense against any outside forces. As the film went on, he became frustrated when the king was unable to capture or kill Ulysses Klaue, and slowly began to align himself with villain Killmonger's world views. All this friction culminated with W'Kabi leading the Border Tribe against the Dora Milaje in a grand battle for the future of Wakanda, which he ultimately surrendered.

This means that, when Black Panther 2 starts, W'Kabi will be in the position of seeking redemption for his egregious actions. Despite surrendering to the Dora Milaje, he's still got a lot to answer for, and exploring his guilt would be a natural progression for the sequel to take. In the end, W'Kabi could end up sacrificing himself for T'Challa, Okoye and Wakanda, as recompense for his past mistakes.

Plus, W'Kabi is arguably Black Panther's most expendable side-character, and if someone has to die in the sequel, it may as well be him.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
