MCU: 10 Fascinating Facts About Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)

5. Tom Holland Couldn't Say Spider-Man

In interview, Holland explained that his British accent made saying the phrase ‘Spider-Man’ in an American tone was incredibly difficult for him, as the Marvel star would find himself either reverting to his natural accent, or going into an accent more belonging to the deep south.

This voicing trouble went to the point that for many scenes the studio just dubbed over the original pronunciation of the superhero's name, as aside from the title character's name the scenes were otherwise flawless.

While it’s endlessly hilarious to imagine Holland realising the one word he struggled to say right was the name of the character he was playing – and that he must have spent significant time just repeating the word to himself – the fact that this audio dubbing is not noticeable is a testament to the skill of the production team behind the film.
