MCU: 10 Marvel Characters Who Could ACTUALLY Replace Spider-Man
7. America Chavez
America Chavez is a fairly new character, but her connection to Kate Bishop bumps her up the queue. Along with Gwenpool, Kid Omega and Fuse, America Chavez is part of the new West Coast Avengers team led by Kate Bishop. Assuming Bishop takes up the Hawkeye mantel and enters the movies of the MCU, she may well recruit for a new team.
If that’s the case, Bishop might follow a Spidey trajectory on Disney+ as Hawkeye mentors her, but she’ll be a more established figure as she moves into the films. That opens the door for her to have a mentor dynamic as the teacher instead, and may work with America Chavez to make that happen.
She comes with some typical super powers like flight, super strength and durability, but her patented Star Blast or inter reality transportation really make her stand out. The former is hugely cinematic, while the latter would let Marvel’s talented SFX team run wild.
She’s a character most definitely on the grow, and certainly doesn’t bring the top billing potential of ‘the new Spider-Man’. Storywise though, there’s a lot in her favour if the MCU turns to youth.
