4. Riri Williams
Peter Parker might have been Tony Stark’s protege in the MCU, but in real life, Robert Downey Jnr has advocated for Riri Williams’ Ironheart to take his place. Speaking at the Gene Siskel Centre, Robert Downey Jnr introduced Eve Ewing, Williams’ writer, and endorsed her inclusion in the MCU.
Though it would be difficult to bring her in without Tony Stark being there, it wouldn’t be impossible. As a talented scientist working for some area of Stark Industries, she could be brought into the fold by Happy or Pepper Potts; it would be pretty cool to see Gwyneth Paltrow in the Rescue suit one last time as well.
Hopefully Paltrow would remember being in the movie this time too...
Even if Riri Williams is brought in in a less Iron Man centric way, she’s a solid character whose stock is growing after a bit of an inauspicious start to her life in the comics. There’s even been fan theories that after Shuri’s scene stealing role in Black Panther, she might absorb the Ironheart storyline as well.
If that does happen, it certainly wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.
