Ms Marvel has been half expected to arrive in the MCU ever since Captain Marvel was announced, and at D23 her arrival was confirmed. Like She-Hulk and Moon Knight, Ms Marvel had a Disney+ show revealed, showing once more how committed Disney is to this platform.
The three newly announced shows join The Falcon & The Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki, Hawkeye and What If...? on the streaming service, connecting several big stars to the platform. Previously, MCU shows like the Netflix Defenders or Agents Of SHIELD have largely been kept separate. With the MCU’s A list names set to star here though, that no longer seems the case.
This means that Ms Marvel might find the transition from small screen to silver screen a fairly easy task.
Kamala Khan herself is a fantastic character who enjoyed one of the strongest Marvel debuts in years, featuring highly on the list of best new Marvel characters of the 21st Century. The young hero’s embiggen power is clever and cinematic, while her story is grounded, compelling and timely. A thoroughly modern Marvel here who could be an MCU star.
