Despite being less than ten years old in the world of comic books, Kamala Khan's impact on the House of Ideas is considerable.

As Ms. Marvel, Kamala has quickly become a fan favourite due to her affable personality and relatable stories, especially in the way her experiences give young Muslim Americans (and Muslims in general) a hero with whom they can relate to in a multitude of ways that they would not find with a character such as Thor.

The Ms. Marvel show is set to arrive on Disney+ later this year with Iman Vellani taking on the heroic title role. The character's age and setting will make for an easily accessible and wholesome series, and the change to her powerset may have been unexpected, but will help differentiate her from a similarly powered hero also set to make their debut soon.

Vellani will also reprise the Khan role in the Captain Marvel sequel, implying that she will play a large role in the MCU moving forward.
