MCU: 10 Most Underrated Performances

2. Sterling K. Brown - N'Jobu

Every actor in Black Panther brings their A-game. Chadwick Boseman proves he was born to play T'Challa. Danai Gurira portrayed Okoye like a bad-ass but humanised her by conveying moments of doubt and conflict. Michael B. Jordan turned the forgettable baddie, Killmonger, into an icon.

With talented performers like Winston Duke, Letitia Wright, and Lupita Nyong'o dominating every scene they're in, it can be easy to forget Sterling K. Brown, since he only appeared for five minutes. As can be seen in his work on This Is Us, the Emmy-award winner is gifted for conveying emotion through facial expression alone. And his performance as Killmonger's father, Prince N'Jobu, is no exception.

Because he betrayed his king, sold his country's secret technology to black market terrorists, and tried to kill his brother, N'Jobu should be perceived as an outright villain. But with Brown's performance, the troubled Wakandan comes across a victim who's grown tired of his people being oppressed. His role is easy to forget since he isn't as theatrical or extreme as M'Baku, Killmonger, or Klaue but that doesn't change the fact Sterling K. Brown absolutely crushed it with this performance.
