MCU: 10 Supernatural Heroes Who Could Make Marvel Millions
1. Ghost Rider
Fantasy casting: Garrett Hedlund
Ghost Rider is probably the unofficial mascot for Marvel’s supernatural characters. Even more than Doctor Strange, he represents what these stories are all about.
He has links to a fair few characters here, in part because he’s so recognisable and popular that he often ushers other origin stories in. If Marvel do chase a more supernatural angle, surely he’ll be involved.
Recently, a Cosmic version of the character (Frank Castle this time, rather than the usual Johnny Blaze or Danny Ketch) has teamed up with Guardians of the Galaxy too. If James Gunn is allowed to run wild, he might even appear in Guardians 3.
Just sticking to the original iterations, there’s a lot of potential for the MCU to include Ghost Rider somehow. The motorcycle and flames would mean a lot of health and safety paperwork, but the payoff would be huge.
Though Reyes’ Ghost Rider has featured in Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., that seems to be a one way street; MCU characters go to the show, but TV characters pretty much never join the films (the Jarvis Endgame cameo a rare exception).
But there's no reason why Marvel can't introduce more than one Rider at a time. Danny Ketch, for many the definitive Rider from the comics, is yet to make a big screen appearance. Ideally, that version should be next in line.
