MCU: 10 Supernatural Heroes Who Could Make Marvel Millions

6. Blade

Blade Vs Wolverine
Marvel Comics

Fantasy casting: Jamie Foxx

Blade was one of the first Marvel heroes to come to the big screen, in his self contained Blade Trilogy. These movies paved the way for the MCU in some ways, if only by highlighting the pitfalls comic book movies sometimes fall prey to.

They’re a decent guilty pleasure watch on their own, but the character was often considered too dark or complicated for an MCU bow. His vampire blood and magical sword don’t necessarily fit the image of the universe as a whole.

With Far From Home teasing the possibility of multiverses and Endgame wrapping up time travel, too complicated is no longer in Kevin Feige’s lexicon.

Too dark still poses a problem though, and a neutered Blade is no Blade at all. Marvel will need to commit to this character if they want to see him done justice on screen.

Wesley Snipes might be too old to reprise the role by now, but it might even be the case that Marvel would just rather have someone new in the role to distinguish their interpretation from the older films. Snipes' characterisation of Blade was brilliant, and Jamie Foxx has the perfect amount of swagger to fill his shoes.

He didn’t shine as Electro in Amazing Spider-Man 2, but that had many script problems. With the right material, he’ll work wonders.
