MCU: 10 Underrated X-Men Who Should Lead Instead Of Wolverine

It might be strange to see Gambit here, as plenty could make the argument that Remy LeBeau is actually an overrated member of the X-Men. Movie wise though, he’s been sorely under utilised, and deserves MCU spotlight.

He was apparently being saved for his own Channing Tatum solo movie, a project canned in the wake of Disney’s acquisition of Fox. There were question marks over that anyway though; Channing Tatum seemed no better a casting than Taylor Kitsch.

Both are solid actors but neither seemed inspired choices. X-Men Origins: Wolverine missing the open goal of Josh Holloway seems particularly baffling.

His card throwing and bō staff attack styles do seem a little too out there and anime for the MCU’s more realistic sensibilities, but they could easily make it work. Guardians, Korg and Scarlet Witch all seem a little too much as well, yet they’ve been integrated into the world seamlessly. With a little bit of a tweak, they’d surely be able to pull it off.

He’s one of the more likely X-Men candidates on this list to appear in the MCU sooner rather than later, with a huge following from the comic books.
