MCU: 10 Underrated X-Men Who Should Lead Instead Of Wolverine

8. Bishop

Gambit Marvel
Marvel Comics

The final one to have actually featured in Fox’s X-Men Universe, Bishop is much better than his minor role in X-Men: Days Of Future Passed represents. It’s little more than a bit part and does nothing to dig into the intrigue his character provides. Hopefully the MCU can fix that.

Bishop is a cop from the future, who travels from his own dystopian timeline to meet the X-Men. He struggles to adapt to his new reality, and bears the psychological scars of his own past. Despite Days Of Future Passed offering bags of potential to explore these angles, they were almost completely ignored by the movie.

It does seem difficult however to imagine Bishop rocking up in the MCU right now. After all, with no X-Men, what precisely is he coming back to? They could stretch it to be connected to the Avengers maybe, but even then the timing seems off. Tony & Natasha are dead, Steve & Clint are retired and Hulk & Thor are both in flux; it would be a strange moment for Bishop to jump to.

The most viable route you feel is through the Multiverse Of Madness with Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch... watch this space.
