MCU - 10 Ways Avengers: Endgame Sets Up Phase 4 & Disney Plus
3. Vision Is Still Dead
While Loki and Gamora manage to return without having their Infinity War deaths reversed, one character who stays dead is Vision (Heimdall too, but that seems less important in the grand scheme of things, bless him).
Vision being dead is interesting because, well, he is going to feature in the Disney Plus series WandaVision, alongside Scarlet Witch. Paul Bettany's starring alongside Elizabeth Olsen, so what does Endgame mean for the show?
Is it a prequel? Well, yes, because it apparently takes place in the 1950s. A time when Scarlet Witch wasn't alive, and Jarvis was James D'Arcy. So how is that going to work? Consider the title again. WandaVision. Wanda's extremely powerful, and it's not beyond her capabilities to essentially create a projection of Vision that she can interact with, even going as far as creating a 1950s surrounding for them to live an idyllic life. The other possibility is that they can recreate Vision from what data Shuri collected in Infinity War, but that's much less weird and interesting.
If they do go down this route, wild as it sounds, then it would also suggest that Wanda's mental health state is fragile, which COULD lead to some kind of reverse House of M scenario where she ends up creating mutants in the MCU. Admittedly that's a major extrapolation, but these Disney+ shows are supposed to fully intersect with and impact the big screen MCU.
