MCU: 12 Burning Questions We Have After Comic-Con

2. Who Will Be The Main Villain Of Secret Wars?

Instead of acting as the final chapter of each Phase in the Multiverse Saga, it will be the entire Saga itself that will be punctuated by two Avengers movies, namely The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars. This was a monumental announcement, and has already got fans wishing it was 2025.

One of the immediate questions is just how closely the MCU will follow the comics for Secret Wars. While Doctor Doom is the big bad of the story in the source material, ruling over Battleworld and the heroes and villains inside, Kevin Feige has been building a different kind of villain to fill Thanos’ shoes.

He Who Remains appeared as a Variant of Kang the Conqueror in the season one finale of Loki, and is set to appear in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania before an obviously key role in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. In theory, if he is the big bad of the Multiverse Saga, Kang should remain the main antagonist for Avengers 6.

However, the Fantastic Four will have debuted almost a year to the day prior to this movie, leaving the window open for Doctor Doom to rise straight to the top of the MCU villain food chain. Hopefully this doesn’t happen, but it wouldn’t be out of the realms of possibilities for the Avengers to defeat Kang in May only to be presented with an even greater threat in November.
