MCU: 12 Changes From The Comics That Were Completely Justified

11. Hawkeye's Family - Avengers: Age Of Ultron

In the comics, Hawkeye is a man apart - an island in isolation with no ties aside from to his job. He was married at one point - to Mockingbird - but he has no children.

That changed in the MCU when Avengers: Age Of Ultron revealed that he has a wife and kids. Initially, it seemed like this was being used to flag Hawkeye as Dead Meat walking (a trope Joss Whedon played consciously with in Ultron before pulling the switcheroo at the end and killing Quicksilver), but it actually added depth to Clint Barton.

No more was he the stone-faced operative he'd been previously, and knowing that he has a reason to fear a globsal invasion makes him all the more intriguing as Infinity War amps up.

If the rumours about him transforming into Ronin for Avengers 4 are to go by, his family might be the catalyst for his tragic change of character. And that would be enough to justify their invention.
