MCU: 12 Things You Learn Rewatching Captain America: The First Avenger

4. Wonder Woman Owes A Lot To It

Looking back at Cap's first outing, it's clear just how much the DCEU's recent smash hit Wonder Woman owes to it. From melding a war setting with a superhero origin story, to the time-leaping frame narrative, plucky supporting team of soldiers, cartoonish villains operating independently from their superiors, heroes riding motorcycles to attack the enemy, and yes, men named Steve sacrificing themselves in aircrafts, the coincidences are "interesting" to say the least.

That's just a few examples, and while we're not necessarily suggesting that Wonder Woman shamelessly cribbed from Cap, it's easy to see how the filmmakers were at least partially inspired by it. Ultimately, Wonder Woman's generally the better-executed of the two films, but without Captain America, perhaps her first solo outing wouldn't have been quite so successful.
