MCU: 12 Things You Learn Rewatching Iron Man
3. It's Still A Really Great Ending
As the endings in the MCU go, Tony Stark's "I am Iron Man" is one of the coolest and one of the most confident of all.
It's the ultimate mic drop, and considering it came before Marvel could have been particularly confident about a franchise let along a shared universe, it's even more stunning that that's how Favreau chose to end things.
But it fits the character more than anything else could have: he's faced with pressure from both SHIELD and the government (not to mention Pepper and his own company) and of course he rebels and does what he wants. It's basically the model for his behaviour throughout the rest of his movie appearances (including when he's mentoring in Spider-Man: Homecoming).
