7. The Mind Stone Has WEIRD Powers

So far, the Infinity Stones' actual powers have been mostly quite guarded. We know that the Time Stone can affect time, that the Tesseract can help space travel, that the Power Stone is a hugely powerful weapon and that the Reality Stone can change reality, but when it comes to the Mind Stone all bets are off.

Because of the awkward way it's introduced, on top of the powers it has later - genetic modification, everything it empowers Vision with - it can also shoot like a gun, different types of mind control including persuasion (since Loki gets Barton to tell him all about Black Widow's past) and teleport characters to other places for meetings. On top of that it can apparently also make people grumpy enough to argue (in a play to get Banner to Hulk out) and has a tracking device built in. Basically, if you can imagine it, the Mind Stone seems to be able to do it.

At this point, it would have been better to call it the Plot Convenience Stone.
