MCU: 20 Things You Somehow Missed In The Avengers

15. Steve Rogers' Parachute

When Thor took Loki from the Avengers in mid-air, Iron Man was the obvious choice to follow them. Though he could have done without the cheesy line about his plan of attack, he could simply fly after them. Steve Rogers didn’t have that same luxury.

After Stark took to the skies, Captain America fiddled with fixing a parachute to his back while debating God with Natasha, before leaping out of the plane. When he lands on the ground however, there isn’t a parachute to be seen.

Two years later in The Winter Soldier, when Cap is about to infiltrate the Lumerian Star, he again jumps out of a plane, only this time without a 'chute at all. Yes, he may have been dropping into water, but this was still a ballsy move.

Could it be that his jump in The Avengers showed him that he didn’t actually need a parachute at all, hence why there was no trace of it when he broke up the fight between Iron Man and Thor? The next time he jumped out of a plane, he decided to forego the safety device entirely.
