MCU: 5 Best & 5 Worst Villains So Far

5 Worst MCU Villains

5. Yellowjacket

Ant Man Corey Stoll Yellowjacket

Despite being nearly three years old, Ant-Man is still arguably one of MCU’s slickest productions to date. Paul Rudd excels as the comedic character of Scott Lang, Michael Douglas nails the role of mentor Hank Pym and Evangeline Lilly is a beast as Hope Van Dyne - even without her Wasp suit.

It is, therefore, a massive shame that the villain lets the whole thing down. Yellowjacket’s motive for going after Pym and Hope is questionable, even after watching the movie a fair few times. Was it because he wanted the tech for himself? Was it because Hope ditched him? Was it because Paul Rudd needed to go up against an alpha male villain? The answer is probably a mixture of all three.

Like some of the villains, it’s not the actor’s fault. Quite the contrary, in fact, with Corey Stoll doing his best with a bad guy who lacked character, charisma and any sort of charm. The train scene is fantastically shot but, unfortunately, Yellowjacket fails to establish himself in the MCU and Darren Cross is, in a word, forgettable.

Sport and Film. I love them both. And I'm extremely lucky to write about two of my biggest passions in life. Most of the time, I'm at the Daily Express newspaper writing about football, tennis and F1. But, when I'm out of there, I let my imagination run wild and pen down my thoughts on the film series' I love. WhatCulture gives me the chance to write about the movie industry - an industry I really care about. And for that, I'm extremely grateful. And hope you, if you're reading this, enjoy what I think about stuff.
