MCU: 5 Marvel Characters Russell Crowe Could Play In Thor: Love And Thunder

Russell Crowe has a long line of incredible acting credits to his name, from The Insider to Les Misérables, and even Man of Steel. However, arguably his most iconic role was as Maximus Decimus Meridius in Gladiator. From this, it wouldn't be much of a leap to imagine seeing the latest addition to the Love and Thunder cast bring to life Hercules.

The Greek God has a long and storied history throughout Marvel Comics since his debut way back in 1945, and has joined many a super team including the Defenders, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and even the Avengers.

Hercules has been both an adversary and an ally of the God of Thunder previously in the source material, and could certainly make an impact on Thor's next installment in the MCU, particularly with the presence and gravitas someone like Russell Crowe could lend to such a role.

With the character likely only being limited to a cameo, Hercules would be someone that wouldn't need a huge amount of exposition or explanation, since fans and mainstream audiences will be at least somewhat familiar with his backstory, and Crowe would instantly make him a memorable addition to an already stacked movie.
