MCU: 5 Marvel Characters Russell Crowe Could Play In Thor: Love And Thunder
1. Zeus
Leaked photos have shown that Russell Crowe is currently sporting a bushy grey beard, which puts King Thor as one of the more likely candidates, but he is not the only character with impressive facial hair that the actor could bring to the MCU.
While Sir Anthony Hopkins has masterfully portrayed Odin in the MCU ever since Thor was released in 2011, the Allfather isn't the only head of a great mythological family in the Marvel Universe. Zeus made his comic book debut with Marvel way back in 1949, he is currently a part of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 6 run, and could be a game changer should he be brought into the MCU.
The franchise has featured many ridiculously powered characters before, particularly on the cosmic side of things, and should Thor see himself travel to Olympus in his upcoming fourth solo movie, it's hard to think of anyone better to embody the Greek God than Russell Crowe.
The father of Hercules has ties to Thor in the comics, as the Asgardians have waged war with the gods of Olympus before, but this could even tie in to Eternals as well. The alien race set to be introduced to the MCU later this year have also had their run ins with Zeus and his family previously, which could make for an incredible side story if adapted in Phase Four.
