MCU: 8 Hilariously Underrated Comedic Moments

7. This Is A Symbol (Guardians Of The Galaxy)

Drax Gamorra Mcu

Before establishing themselves as the Guardians of the Galaxy, each member was introduced to each other sequentially. When it came time to place Drax front and centre, the initial confusion about his literal interpretations was hilariously unexpected.

The Kyln prison, housing some of the galaxy's most dangerous inmates, was actually the first meeting place of every member of the superhero faction. Drax, who has been watching Gamora from afar, plans on killing her, due to her association with warlords Thanos and Ronan the Accuser. He corners her in a separate section of the prison when everyone is asleep, but is interrupted from completing his goal by Peter Quill. Quill pleads with Drax to not kill her, and to instead let her live so she can bring Ronan to him.

Quill does manage to convince Drax, with a pictorial demonstration of what he could do to the Kree fanatic. By motioning his finger across his neck, Drax expresses confusion as to why he would place his finger on Ronan's throat. After a few moments of confusion, Quill says that it is just a symbol to what can be done, to which Drax replies that he would rather cut his head clean off.

The general expression indeed went over his head, as audiences would soon realize that many metaphorical expressions would. With each of these moments, however, Drax ensured that laughter was always soon to follow.
