Tony Stark naturally provides audiences with ludicrous, highly entertaining moments, due to his serious composure coupled with his quick-witted nature. Even in the face of danger, he is able to find levity, such as when he is captured and guarded by two of Aldrich Killian's goons.

Intending to face-off against the Mandarin in Miami, Stark initially discovers that the villain is nothing more than an actor named Trevor Slattery. Following this ridiculous revelation, Stark is captured by Killian, the latter of which reveals his intention to use his hostage Pepper Potts as leverage, should Stark not agree to help him fix the flaws in the Extremis technology. Killian, the supposed real Mandarin, leaves Stark to the care of two of his henchmen.

Stark, using his super intellect, eventually plans to kickstart his escape, but not before hilariously interacting with both guards. The first one, exemplified by his ponytail, is asked by Stark if he knows the mileage count between Tennessee and Miami. To both Stark and the audience's surprise, the guard answers correctly, before applauding himself.

Once Stark's Iron Man armour does not burst in to help him suit up, the henchmen are both left wondering why they got this shift, as well as pretending to be terrified of Stark's threats. Stark eventually breaks out, but not before audiences broke out with laughter at this short-lived segment of the film.
