MCU: 9 Best Character Arcs In The Infinity Saga

7. Black Widow Showing Compassion

MCU Captain America
Marvel Studios

When Black Widow debuted as an autonomous assassin in Iron Man 2, it's fair to say that few knew how much of an impact Scarlet Johansson's Romanoff would eventually have over the MCU. Some hearty character development has taken place across the expanse, first occurring in Avengers: Assemble. Since that time, her friendship with the likes of Clint Barton and Steve Rogers have emerged at recurring intervals and at consistent depth, none less so than in Endgame.

Natasha's loving side manifested further during her unfolding affection for Hulk and Bruce Banner in Avengers: Age of Ultron, the most poignant moment being her conversation at Barton's farm, where she cites her inability to bear children. This and more unfolding elements of her true-self rendered Black Widow one of the most credible heroines in the MCU.

Her willing and ultimate sacrifice in Endgame sent this off the chart. Accepting no resolve other than to give her own life for another, placed no shred of doubt over the inner beauty of this character, and cemented the reason why the Black Widow brand deserves to live on into the next phase... Somehow.
