One of Endgame's best kept secrets was the eventual merging of Banner and Hulk. Both of these characters had developed on their own terms and in their own way over the years, only to find themselves at a stalemate during the events of Infinity War.

This made it all the more satisfying to see the ultimate matrimony of both personalities in Endgame: Hulk's body, with Banner's brains. It also proved to bring out the best from sides. Hulk was no longer the bad tempered beast who pushed everyone away, and Banner was no longer an anxious introvert. In the post decimation landscape of Endgame, Professor Hulk was popular with the public and an asset to the team, maintaining his strength and wisdom without being an occupational hazard.

In many ways, Professor Hulk is the ultimate superhero, unless we take into account the diminished rage. The angry Hulk of old seemed more able to toss about the odd car, and was therefore more physically powerful. But this is a meager factor when taking into account the intuitiveness of his evolved and infinitely more helpful successor.
