MCU: Can Secret Invasion Still Happen After Captain Marvel?
2. Talos' Daughter Could Change That
While the adult Skrulls in Captain Marvel don't seemingly lend themselves to Secret Invasion, there is one way it could work, and that's through Talos' daughter. She's only seen briefly, but what she witnesses could be crucial in terms of how she grows up and what the Skrulls do in the future.
When Talos is fighting the Kree, he wants his family to be shielded from the violence, so they don't have to see what happens. His daughter, however, does watch on, with the camera lingering on her face in a way that suggests there's something meaningful to come. Talos may want peace, but his daughter is growing up shaped by the violence with the Kree, which means she might be a very different sort of Skrull, and more like the ones everyone expected going into this movie. If she takes on some leadership duties in a future Captain Marvel movie, then it can go much further into the generational conflicts between the rival races.
There's certainly more of the Skrulls' story to tell, since they're now so connected to Captain Marvel, who is helping them find a home. The Kree-Skrull War is still ongoing, and the Supreme Intelligence lives on, so it's not like everything is going to be easy for them even once they have found a new planet to settle down in.
