10. Black Widow

Avengers Infinity War Black Widow
Marvel Studios

Status: Confirmed

Release: May 1, 2020

A decade after her introduction in Iron Man 2, Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow is finally getting her own solo movie. It is a fair bit later than when demand was at its highest (which was roughly around the Age of Ultron era), but it's still a tantalising prospect nonetheless.

There's strong talent involved - Cate Shortland directing, Jac Schaffer writing - but more importantly is that, despite how much time has passed, there are still a number of murky details from Natasha Romanoff's past that feel worthy of being put on the big screen, from her Red Room training to whatever happened in Budapest. Plus, the last time Marvel dipped into the espionage genre, it worked pretty darn well.
