7. Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 - Ego
When we first meet Ego in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 he's all-powerful, charming and polite. But in the cosmic world that gravitates around the Guardians, their next villain after Ronan had to be someone stuppendously powerful.
Ego's affiliation with Peter Quill was enough to cause conflict within the team, but to learn about the origins surrounding Peter's conception and why he came to exist really opens the floodgates to some dark territory.
The discovery of the other bodies buried underneath Ego's planet is chilling enough, and Ego's cavalier attitude towards killing Peter's half-siblings was uneasy to hear. But it was when he casually revealed that he deliberately killed Peter Quill's mother in the most cruel way, that Ego elevated himself to being one of the worst (in a good way) bad guys in the MCU.
He's virtually unbeatable as Peter angrily blasts him away, only to watch him re-assemble like the damned T1000. Ego is an example of great villain we want more of in future films.
