MCU: Every Infinity Saga Villain RANKED

One fascinating thing about the character of Loki is that in every iteration across the MCU, he appears a slightly different version of himself.

Fresh off his fall from grace in the first Thor, he's introduced in The Avengers before any of the actual hereoes (not excluding Hawkeye) show up.

In Avengers, Loki still carries the same malice and disdain for humanity as he did in Thor, but with a touch of Joss Whedon's guidance we are gifted with an antagonist who is starting to have fun on Earth.

From his individual interactions with the other Avengers, he's a carefully crafted villain who has to get into the heads of each hero in different ways. The one fault that could be found in this iteration is he is taking something of a backseat in the second half in lure of the Chitauri army.

But then again, you can't have a big team mash-up and have them fight one villain. Loki is obviously as much a pawn in this film as his own army, but here lies a villain who is carried over from one film to the next and still received positively.
