17. Ant-Man

The Scene

After denying Hope Van Dyne the chance to take over from him as Ant-Man (choosing Scott Lang instead), Hank Pym takes her into one of his labs and reveals that he and his wife Janet had been working on an advanced prototype suit for the original Wasp to wear.

He says she didn't get to wear it and that it's not finished, but passes the mantle on to his daughter, setting up her transition to The Wasp for the sequel.

What It Meant

At the time, it meant we'd get to see Hope suit up as The Wasp in the sequel, but subsequently we found out she would be sharing top billing with Lang's Ant-Man (though that title probably relates more to her mother and father than her and Scott).

Her "it's about damn time" and smug look might have the faintest hint that she's not quite worthy of the suit, but it'll be great to see her spreading those wings for the sequel.
