MCU: Every Single Marvel Movie Post-Credits Scene Ranked Worst To Best
12. Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 - Stan Lee's Stranded
Stan Lee's cameo in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 took a long time coming, but when it came, it was arguably the best of his entire MCU tenure. And now that the great man has gone, it's an even more loaded moment, particularly given what James Gunn did with it.
The sequence shows Lee talking to a group of Watchers - the almost immortal overseers of the universe - suggesting that the fan theory that Lee was himself a Watcher might well be true. It was a great bit of fan service that offered a logical explanation for Lee's many appearances across the MCU, and more importantly, it was a conscious nod towards his royalty status.
It's a tiny bit problematic that the Watchers leave him to be stranded in space, but it's an affectionate retake on the character of Uatu - who Lee was always linked to - and it fits with the charming but bumbling image Lee has carved for himself in the MCU.
