For any son to follow in their famous father’s footsteps, especially one of such universal adoration, would be a tall task. However, the same can’t be said for Denzel Washington's eldest, as John David's prominent pops has provided no stumbling block for him whatsoever. The LA-born actor has built up an impressive career to date and only continues to set Hollywood alight role after role.

That said, JDW has what it takes to make for a rather fantastic Mister Fantastic. His performances speak for themselves, and he is well versed in genres such as action, comedy, and drama, allowing him to bring a truly unique Reed Richards to life that is different to what we have seen before. The 38-year-old's name is no random choice but in fact a previous revelation on his part.

The American was asked his thoughts on the role back in 2020, and when placed in a hypothetical situation that involved Kevin Feige approaching him to play the part, Washington replied “Wow, I’d say, ‘Well, thank you for having me, thank you for taking this meeting, where do I sign?’” Although unclear whether he would have the same said interest today, the Tenet lead would be a no-brainer for someone of Richards’ characteristics, should he be game to play ball. John David plays the main man well, and if Feige were to give him that contract, there may be no one more capable of leading the Fantastic Four within the MCU.
