MCU Phase 3: 10 Things Fans Want That Won't Happen

1. A Crazy-Powerful Infinity Gauntlet

The Infinity Stones have been very, very underwhelming so far in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the comic books, each one of them grants complete control over the aspect of the universe it is named after (so, for example, the Time Gem allows the wielder to travel forward and back in time, stop time, speed up or slow down time, as well as enabling the user to speed up or slow down the ageing process in themselves and others). Wielding the whole Infinity Gauntlet literally allows the user to do whatever they wish. Thanos, for example, clicked his fingers and wiped out half of the life in the entire universe. But that level of power is miles above what the movie versions have shown. The Tesseract has been the most impressive. It has basic energy blasts, the ability to provide power to other weapons and it was able to open portals across space. The Aether was less impressive. It emitted dark energy that didn€™t even give Malekith enough power to defeat Thor and it infected Jane Foster, threatening her life. The Orb only really displayed an ability to fire concussive blasts of energy, making it even less impressive. Finally, the Infinity Stone in Loki€™s sceptre (which was only revealed as such quite recently), could control people€™s minds upon physical contact and fire powerful blasts of energy. Does anyone really think that, collectively, they'll grant the wielder universal reality-warping powers? Unlikely - and that's a real shame, as audiences will probably end up completely disappointed by them. So there you have it - ten things the fans want in Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that simply won't happen. Did you enjoy this article? Do you agree with the entries on this list?
